Some Examples of Process Modifications - DiagramsWe have an extensive array of equipment that can be configured to meet your needs. With reactors sized from one to 1,000 gallons, various materials of construction, and a broad range of pressure and temperature capabilities, ours is a 30,000 square ft chemistry set. Many of our customers have commented that one of the benefits of bringing their research and development projects to Pressure Chemical Company is our wide variety of equipment available in house. Another is the ability of our skilled operators, chemists and engineers to re-configure process flows quickly at the whim of our customers. Some examples of interesting equipment configurations are shown below. Continuous DistillationThis diagram displays a 200 L glass still that was modified from its standard batch distillation configuration in order to perform a continuous distillation. Feedstock is charged in the system and warmed in the tube-in-a-tube heater before entering the flask. As the process continues the product is distilled to the distillate receivers. The heels, which accumulate in the bottom of the flask, are automatically drained to the bottoms receiver by action of the level switch on the site glass, thus making a continuous process.
